About me
Magda Szczebiot is a Poland-based composer, violist and music producer,
graduate of The Fryderyk Chopin University of Music. She was a Music
Interpretation student at The
University of Gothenburg and a student at Conservatorio Superior de
Música del Principado de Asturias.
In 2016 she released "Echo" - an original album with her arrangements for
string quartet. Folk music from Eastern Poland was the source of
inspiration for this work. Magda qualified for the semi-finals of the
International Songwriting Competition 2019 - the most prestigious
songwriting competition in
the world - for one of her songs from the "Echo" album - „Matka
bolejąca” (eng. title „Hurt”).
As a student of the Film Music Composition Workshop in Gdynia Film
School
she worked with Oscar winner A.P Kaczmarek.
In 2020 Magda made project Triptych „Beksinski untitled” - composed and produced original music inspired by the art of Polish painter Zdzisław Beksiński with original animations of his works.
In 2021 her cinematic single and video clip „Wybrzmiewa” had its
premiere.
She is a three-time scholarship holder of the Artistic Scholarship from
the President of the city of Białystok (2015, 2016, 2020) and a
scholarship holder of the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage of
the Republic of Poland (2020).
In April 2021 Magda was chosen to take part in a program for talented
Polish artists “Tak Brzmi Miasto”, where she had the opportunity to
work with established Polish artists like Leszek Biolik (Republika),
Daga Gregorowicz (Dagadana), or Paweł Hordejuk. She also
took part in the MC&S Lab Sync Camp in Sopot organized by Music Export
Poland.
She is also an active musician. She is a member of "Etnosomnia" string
quartet where she plays viola and composes original music. As a violist she has performed with such artists and bands as: Perfect, Varius Manx, Zbigniew Wodecki, Kasia Stankiewicz, Justyna Steczkowska, Josh Groban, Placido Domingo, Avi Avital, Zagi, OS.SO, Antonina, Volosi.
